2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data when you use Singles Treffen:

• Account data: First name, email address, password (hashed), age, gender.
• Profile data: Profile photos, personal description, interests, location preferences.
• Communication data: Messages exchanged between members on the platform.
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, login times, IP address, browser type.
• Device data: Operating system, device type, screen resolution.
• Payment data: Billing name, last four digits of card (full card details processed by Stripe, not stored by us).

We do not collect special categories of personal data (e.g., racial or ethnic origin, health data) and we never sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Purposes & Legal Basis

We process your personal data for the following purposes and on the following legal grounds under the GDPR:

• Account provision and service delivery — Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract). We need your data to create and manage your account and provide you with access to the platform.
• Safety and fraud prevention — Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests). We analyse behaviour patterns to detect fake accounts, scammers and abusive users to protect our community.
• Analytics and platform improvement — Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests). We use anonymised analytics data to understand how our service is used and how to improve it.
• Marketing communications — Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). We send marketing emails only to users who have explicitly opted in. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal obligations — Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR. We may retain certain data to comply with applicable laws, regulations or court orders.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share data only with:

• Stripe — payment processing (data transferred under EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
• Clicky Analytics — anonymised usage analytics. See Clicky's privacy policy.
• Cloud infrastructure providers — hosting and data storage, all located within the EU.
• Law enforcement — only where legally required and to the minimum extent necessary.

All third-party processors are bound by data processing agreements that ensure GDPR compliance.

Data is retained for as long as your account is active, plus 30 days after deletion (to allow account recovery). Certain data (e.g., transaction records) may be retained for up to 10 years as required by German commercial law.
